Directions to the Church

From the Walt Whitman Bridge:

On the Walt Whitman Bridge, get in the far right lane. You will be following signs to I95 south. Pick a toll booth on the far right side. The turn-off ramp for I95 will be on the right, immediately after the toll plaza. The ramp curves hard to the right and then forks. Take the right fork. You will go through a traffic light and then merge on to I95 south. Stay on 95 south. You will go over a bridge. Look for an exit marked Bartram Avenue (2nd one after the bridge). Exit I95 at the Bartram Ave. exit. Follow Bartram Ave. through 2 lights. Turn right at the third light on to 84th street. Follow 84th street through two lights. You will be turning right (turn out lane) at the third light after passing a cemetary (there will be a gas station there and large petroleum tanks on the left). Once you turn, you are on Calcon Hook road. Follow Calcon Hook road through a stop sign an a light. At the second light, the road ends and you must make a turn. Turn right. You are now on Chester pike. Get in the left lane and stay there. Follow the road as it snakes through 3 lights. At the 4th light, the lane you in (left lane) becomes a left turn only lane. You will take this left turn (there will be a large cathedral on the far corner). After you make the turn, you are on Main street. Follow the road past Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. You will pass through four lights -- 2. Are at the hospital - the 3rd is right after it - and the 4th is in the center of Lansdowne (stay in right lane). Pass through the 4th light and the main business district of town. Watch for a Wawa dairy mini market on the right. You will be turning left on Strafford Avenue JUST BEFORE the Wawa. You now are at the church. The main sanctuary is on your immediate right. Just past the sanctuary, set back a little, is the red gothic door to the Epworth building, the entrance to the dance on the third floor. Parking can be found on the streets near the church.

From I-476 (the blue route) south:
NOTE - It's too confusing on this one to count traffic lights.

You are traveling south on I476 (the blue route). Watch for exit 4 to Upper Darby. When you see signs for the exit, get in the right lane. The lane will become an exit only lane. The ramp will fork after a gentle curve. Take the left fork for a left turn on to route 3 (West Chester Pike). Once you turn left on to route 3, get in the second from right lane (be careful here - there are many lanes - the 2 lanes on the far left are left turn only - the 1 lane on the far right is right turn only - You want to go straight). Going straight on route 3, after all those multiple lanes, you will climb a long hill and pass the Manoa Shopping Center near the top. Stay on the road. You will now go straight down the other side of the hill in a long gentle slope. Way at the bottom of the hill, the road will sharply rise again in a little hill with a traffic light at the top. You will be turning right at that light on to Lansdowne Avenue. Be careful here, too. There is a Kohl's department store with another light just BEFORE Lansdowne Avenue - Do not turn at the light for Kohl's. After you pass the Kohl's light, get in the far right lane - it is the right turn lane for Lansdowne Avenue. Once you turn, and get on Lansdowne Avenue, you will immediately cross another major road - Route 1. Keep going straight and watch out - your road will narrow to 1 lane just past the intersection. Stay on Lansdowne avenue. You will pass a Acme where the widens again (take the right lane), climb a hill and pass Upper Darby High School, descend a hill and pass Delaware County Memorial Hospital, and climb another hill and come to a bizarre intersection of 3 roads and a trolley. Stay in your lane and go straight through the intersection (watch out! The road narrows to one lane quickly). Once you pass the trolley intersection, you are in Lansdowne. Follow Lansdowne Avenue through the residential area past the Presbyterian Church. The road will curve to the right and rise to a light (Stewart Ave.). Just past the light, look for a Wawa dairy mini market on the left and Trinity Lansdowne Methodist Church on the right Turn right on the street JUST PAST the Wawa and the church. You now are at the church. The main sanctuary is on your immediate right. Just past the sanctuary, set back a little, is the red gothic door to the Epworth building, the entrance to the dance on the third floor. Parking can be found on the streets near the church
